Where to Stay in Naivasha, Kenya. Enashipai. You can download my complete list of ROAD TRIP PACKING for FREE
Location
Enashipai Resort & Spa is located within the magnificent Great Rift Valley in Kenya, by the shores of Lake Naivasha. My friends and I looked for a place to stay in Naivasha during our visit in Kenya in 2019 and we stumbled on this slice of luxury. We made reservations for three days and had a wonderful time. It’s about a 2½-hour drive from Nairobi.
Right at the gate, the staff greeted us happily. Free from the hustle and bustle of the city hotels makes Enashipai Resort & Spa a top-rated location in Naivasha. Other than Friday, Saturday and private parties, I appreciated that they have no evening entertainment which made the place ideal for relaxation.
The vibe at Enashipai Resort & Spa
- The environment is serene, green, quiet and goof for relaxation
- I was blown away by the hospitality of the staff.
People I would like to recognize;
- Faith (waiter).
- Peter (for the tour at the Maa Museum in Swahili language).
- Charles (chef).
- Alice (spa).
Why I enjoyed Enashipai Resort & Spa
- Located away from heavy traffic and city noise
- The spa treatments are world class
- We enjoyed the outdoor shower and huge bathroom
- The resort-specific viewpoint for the hippos was pretty cool and the security down by the lake was friendly
Our Room
We stayed at the African-inspired, elegant executive room and we were impressed how massive our room was. I have to say, the design and décor in the room is well thought out. We really enjoyed the outdoor shower outside the bathroom
Activities to do in or close to Enashipai Resort & Spa
- The hotel located is located very close to Lake Naivasha. Perfect spot to go on a boat ride to see the hippos.
- Boat tour to Crescent Island
The Maa Museum
The Maa Museum is a treat for travelers who want to learn more of the Maasai culture. Thank you Peter for giving me a private of the museum in Swahili language, loved it!
Fitness and Pool
The gym is well equipped. Jet lagged and waking up at odd hours, I was the second one at the gym. The gym fitness trainer worked me out and oh boy…my legs were sore the next morning, a good kind of pain. In the background, you could hear the beautiful sounds of the different birds chipping. The view of the pool from the gym is fabulous.
The Spa
- The spa is the most beautiful spa I have ever been to and at reasonable rate. Alice gave me a massage both times and she was amazing
- The environment is clean and pristine
- The staff at the front desk are courteous and welcoming
Gift shop
We bought a few gifts during our stay and returned on our way to the upcountry after two weeks vacationing’ in Kenya to buy more gifts. We went all out since they offer a variety of souvenirs all reasonably priced. We spent about $500 worth of gifts and got a nice discount of 10%. Even if you’re not a guest at Enashipai Resorts & Spa, I would recommend coming here to buy the nice merchandise. We combined our shopping spree with a massage appointment and oh was that relaxing after 2 ½ hour drive from the capital city Nairobi.
What would do differently on my next trip?
- Stay an extra day or two in Enashipai Resorts & Spa
- Schedule massage ahead of time
Highlights
- The staff are happy to help and serve
- The Lakeside bar is in a great location. Unfortunately, during our stay they had a private event so we didn’t get to have a drink but I would think the view from here would be fabulous.
Would I stay or recommend Enashipai Resort & Spa? Yes, absolutely.
- Beautiful location with peaceful surrounding
- Friendly and highly professional and very helpful team
- Overall service was out of this world
- Perfect little break from the safari schedule
