ONE DAY IN NAIROBI, KENYA
Are you planning to be in Nairobi for less than a day? You want to make the most of your time, yet find travel guides confusing? If you are spending the night in Nairobi or you’re flying into Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) and for less than 24 hours, here are insider tips I recommend for a day of great experiences in Nairobi. In fact this is what I will be doing on my next trip to Kenya.
You can take a flight that lands at JKIA at 5:40 AM though Emirates Airlines.
7AM-8:30AM—Have breakfast at Sankara Nairobi.
8:30 AM-10AM—Drive to Giraffe Center which opens at 9AM.
9:15-10AM—Tour and spend time with the giraffes where you can feed them, and better yet, get a kiss from a giraffe.
10AM- 10:45—Drive to David Shedrick Wildlife Trust.
11AM-12PM—Spend an hour watching lively baby elephants play in the mud.
12:15-1PM—Drive to “The Hub” Mall.
1PM-4PM—Have lunch, do some last minute shopping and be sure to stop at two of my favorite Kenyan owned shops: VIVO and The Urban African.
4-4:45PM—Drive back to David Shedrick Wildlife Trust and see your adopted elephant.
5-5:45PM—Spend time with the baby elephant.
6-6:30PM—Have dinner at local restaurant of your choosing.
7PM-7:45—PM Drive to the airport.
8PM—Check in for your 10:00/10:30 PM Emirates flight. You’ve had a memorable day.

We (2 of us) are flying into Nairobi on Arril 2, 2019 (late) and flying out early April 4.
We would like to have a guide that Picks us up at our hotel (Best Western Plus Meridian) on April 3, 2019 at 8 or 9 am to tour the sights, arriving at the David Sheldrick Wildlife Orphanage at 11 AM for the mud bath/feed. Then tour other areas (including the Giraffe Center), the Park and returning to the Sheldrick orphanage at 5PM for meeting with a specific orphan. Then back to hotel or drop us of at a restaurant. We can taxi home.
