Hikes near Seattle, Washington: 40 Amazing Adventures
If you love hiking, as I do, here are hikes not far from Seattle, Washington in the Pacific Northwest that I was able to hike in the summer of 2018. This list makes a good add-on to your 2019 bucket list. From 2 miles to 20 miles, here are 40 amazing hikes near Seattle Washington.
Summer, 2018, was filled with hiking adventures. I accomplished 35 out of the 40 trails this past summer season and 5 in fall season. Mind you, I work Monday to Friday, so I hiked only on Saturdays and Sundays. You can bet your boots, I was weary by Monday. Three of those hikes near Seattle were sunrise hikes. We woke up around 2 a.m., drove to the trailhead and hiked in pitch dark for one to two hours. In fact on three occasions, we were up the mountains before the sun had risen.
One of my personal goals was also to go on several solo-hikes, which to be honest, were both exciting and nerve-wracking. Needless to say, I am impressed with myself. I did three solo hikes rated hard and difficult. There’s something to be said about being adventurous, yet careful and choosing to go on a hike alone.
That being said, the group hikes were full of laugher, huffing and puffing with my friends. I couldn’t have done this on my own. I’m especially thankful to Emily and my Mr. Right for being my bad* * hiking partners not to forget my three girlfriends Rhoda, Soilya and Linda. We pushed each other to greater heights (l mean literally). I’m not one to blow my own horn, but I don’t want to downplay what my travel tribe and I successfully completed. At times we were tempted to turn around, but we finished every hike we started.
Mr. Right and I trained for 2 straight months in order to do a day hike through The Enchantments, which was 20miles/32KM. We did this at the end of summer, which proves that you can accomplish whatever you set your mind on. We began the hike at 4 a.m. and we were back in our car at 5:40 p.m. We walked 20 minutes shy of 14 hours, a long time being immersed in nature. This was one of the hardest hikes I’ve done so far, especially hard on the knees as we lost so much elevation, close to 7000feet/2133 meters.
