Hello,
If you’ve ever traveled to unknown places, then you recall the mix of excitement and fear of visiting a new destination, Kenya, East Africa. I just returned from a month in Kenya, Africa and I’m eager to share my experience with you, my special reader.
Even if you are timid and don’t have everything figured out in your life, that’s OK. You have the power to muster your courage and say “no” to fear. I know how easy it is to find an excuse not to travel. So my challenge to you is to go and see the world. Explore. Everything will fall into place. What are you waiting for? Plan now before it’s too late and all you are left with are regrets for what you didn’t do.
So, to help you plan an exciting adventure, consider making your next vacation a trip to Kenya. Here are my top five places to visit in Kenya, one of Africa’s most beautiful countries. Looking for things to do in Nairobi, Kenya? Check out my article on 5 things, travel with lrine.
1. Maasai Mara, Kenya
For a thrill unlike any other, visit the “World Cup of Wildlife.” You’ll see one of the most spectacular safaris in Kenya, Africa. To really enjoy the wildlife, three to four days is typically enough. But of course, you can always stay a little longer.
2. Diani Beach, Mombasa.
Mombasa Kenya is where the finest seafood is to be found and I agree. Be sure to plan 5-6 days there. I recommend staying at Maji Boutique Hotel, just a 10-minute drive from the Ukunda Airstrip, if you are flying with Safarilink, which I highly recommend. Another fantastic hotel I have stayed at is the Sands of Chale Island.
3. Ride an ostrich, Kenya
Located 45 minutes from Nairobi, the capital city of Kenya is the Ostrich Farm. If you’ve never ridden on the back of an ostrich, you’re in for a ride adventure of a lifetime. It’s an experience you will never forget.
4. One day road trip, Kenya
Travel from Nairobi to Crest Island, Hells Gate, and enjoy a boat ride in Lake Naivasha, noted for its swimming hippos. A boat ride excursion to be experienced.
5. Visit Kisumu city the home of Lake Victoria.
Lake Victoria is not only the largest lake in Africa but the second largest fresh water lake in the world, as well as the chief reservoir for the Nile River. Seeing the endless landscapes and tea plantations along the way make the 4-hour drive well worth the time. Kisumu is the third largest city in Kenya.
